Help and guides
Set up your AI chat assistant in a few minutes, on any website, and get the most out of it.
Getting started
From sign-up to your first chat.
- Create your account, then on the Billing page click “Start free” (your own AI key, free from Google's Gemini) or choose Pro, Agency or a plan with AI included.
- Open Store, enter your website address and click “Check my website”. We recognise your platform and show only its steps.
- Add the chat to your website (see the sections below), then click “Check installation” on the Widget page.
- Try it in the test chat. Conversations, leads, bookings and reports appear in your dashboard.
WordPress and WooCommerce
Our plugin adds the chat and connects your WooCommerce shop in one click.
- On the Widget page, download the C2C AI Sales Agent plugin.
- In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file and click Install, then Activate.
- Open Settings → Chat2Checkout and paste your widget key from the Widget page.
- Test mode is on at first, so only admins see the chat. Turn it off when you are happy.
- To take orders in the chat, click “Allow ordering in the chat” on the Store page and keep cash on delivery on in WooCommerce.
Shopify
No Shopify app is needed: we read your public storefront.
- On the Store page, enter your shop address (your own domain or the myshopify.com address).
- If your store is password protected, enter the storefront password when we ask for it.
- Copy the one line from the Widget page. In Shopify admin open Online Store → Themes → … → Edit code, open layout/theme.liquid and paste it just before '</body>'.
- Products sync by themselves. Visitors can add to their real cart from the chat.
Wix, Squarespace and other websites
Paste one line where your platform allows custom code.
- On the Store page, enter your website address. We read your public pages and products by ourselves.
- Copy the one line from the Widget page and add it where your platform says below.
- Click “Check installation” on the Widget page.
Wix
In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings → Custom code → + Add custom code. Paste the line, choose "All pages" and place it in "Body - end".
Squarespace
In Squarespace, go to Settings → Advanced → Code injection (Website → Pages → Custom code on newer sites). Paste the line in the Footer box.
BigCommerce
In BigCommerce, go to Storefront → Script Manager → Create a script. Choose "Footer" and "All pages", then paste the line.
Magento
In Magento admin, go to Content → Design → Configuration → your store view → HTML Head → Scripts and Style Sheets, and paste the line.
Webflow
In Webflow, open Site settings → Custom code and paste the line in "Footer code", then publish the site.
Any other website
Paste the line in your website's HTML, just before </body>, on every page (most website builders have a "custom code" or "footer code" setting).
Set up your assistant
Tell the assistant what to work towards and how people can reach you.
- On the Assistant page, check your industry. Every industry gets an expert assistant for its field (shops, travel, home services, health, beauty, hotels, restaurants, education, real estate, fitness and professional services).
- Choose the goal: selling products, collecting enquiries or taking booking requests.
- Pick a tone and add your WhatsApp, phone, Messenger or email so visitors can reach a person.
- Add your own rules for anything the assistant must never say.
- On paid plans the assistant can look up current public information online (opening days of public places, new rules, events). You can turn it off on the Assistant page.
Training
Teach the assistant facts that are not on your website.
- Open Training and write what visitors often ask: delivery times, guarantees, opening hours.
- Or upload files: PDF, Word, CSV or text, up to 5 MB each.
- Click “Complete training”. The next chat already uses it.
- Training is used as facts only. It can never change the safety rules.
Alerts and taking over chats
Hear about the chats that need you and reply yourself.
- Open Alerts, read the short guide and turn alerts on.
- Choose the situations you want to hear about and the email addresses to alert.
- Switch yourself to Available in the header while the dashboard is open, so visitors can ask for a person.
- Open Conversations → Live chats, take over a chat, reply, then hand it back to the assistant.
Reports and success stories
See what the chat does for your business.
- Reports shows chats, adds to cart, orders and leads that came from the chat, in your shop’s time zone.
- Download a summary as PDF or the daily numbers as CSV.
- The Questions tab lists what the assistant could not answer, so you can add it to your website or training.
- Share your results as a public success story from the Reports page, with your name or anonymously.
Ask your AI app about your results
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app that supports MCP and ask about your chats, leads and results in your own words. It can only read.
- Open Settings → Connected AI apps and copy the connector address.
- In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the address and click Add. In ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (turn on developer mode), Create, paste the address. Other apps: add an “MCP server” with that address.
- Click Connect. Sign in to Chat2Checkout, choose the workspace the app may read and click Allow.
- Ask, for example: “How many chats and leads did I get last week?” or “What questions couldn’t my assistant answer?”
- To stop it, click Disconnect in Settings → Connected AI apps.
Webhooks
Send events to other apps the moment they happen (paid plans).
- Open Settings → Webhooks, paste the address your other app gives you (https) and pick the events.
- Click Add address and copy the signing secret: it is shown only once.
- Click Send test, then map the fields in the other app (workspace, event and data with the visitor’s details).
- To check that a request came from us, compute HMAC-SHA256 of “<t>.<body>” with your secret and compare it with v1 in the X-Chat2Checkout-Signature header (t=…,v1=…).
Zapier
Turn new leads into rows in Google Sheets, deals in your CRM or messages in Slack.
- In Zapier, create a Zap with the trigger “Webhooks by Zapier” → “Catch Hook” and copy its URL.
- Paste the URL in Chat2Checkout under Settings → Webhooks, pick the events and click Add address.
- Click Send test in Chat2Checkout, then “Test trigger” in Zapier: the test lead appears.
- Add your action (for example Google Sheets → Create Spreadsheet Row) and map the fields from data.
Make
Use a Make scenario to send leads and orders anywhere.
- In Make, create a scenario and add the module Webhooks → Custom webhook. Click Add, name it and copy the address.
- Paste the address in Chat2Checkout under Settings → Webhooks and click Add address.
- Click “Redetermine data structure” in Make, then Send test in Chat2Checkout.
- Add the next module (for example your CRM) and map the fields. Turn the scenario on.
n8n
Self-hosted or n8n cloud: receive events in a workflow.
- In n8n, add a Webhook node with HTTP method POST and copy its Production URL.
- Paste it in Chat2Checkout under Settings → Webhooks and click Add address.
- Activate the workflow, click Send test in Chat2Checkout and open the execution to see the data.
- Optional: add a Crypto node (HMAC SHA256) to check the X-Chat2Checkout-Signature header with your secret.
Open the chat from your own buttons
Your website’s buttons and links can open the chat or ask a question for the visitor.
- Open the chat: Chat2Checkout.open() — close it: Chat2Checkout.close().
- Ask a question for the visitor: Chat2Checkout.ask("Do you have this in size M?"). The chat opens and the assistant answers.
- Run code when the chat opens or closes: Chat2Checkout.on("open", function () { … }). "ready" fires once the chat has loaded.
- Calls made before the chat has loaded wait until it is ready. If your button code may run before our script, add first: window.c2c = window.c2c || function () { (c2c.q = c2c.q || []).push(arguments) }; then call c2c("open") or c2c("ask", "…").
Plans and billing
Plans, pay as you go and refunds.
- Pick a monthly or yearly plan, or buy message credits that last 12 months.
- Free, Pro and Agency answer with your own AI key, so there's no message limit from us. Starter, Growth and Business include the AI and a number of messages each month.
- You get a reminder before a plan ends and when 80% of your messages are used.
- Refunds can be requested from the Billing page within 14 days of your first payment (see the refund policy).
